Clematis (I think)

There are *lots* of species and cultivars in this genus, so I doubt I will get anything more than the Clematis genus from this and another image that shows the climbing vine nature of this particular plant. A neighbor down the street from us has this vine climbing their front yard lamp post.

Yes indeed they are Thom. We planted a few the other year, and just today I ripped two dead vines out. For some reason they went bad this year. Not sure why. I believe my Wife got carried away with the Roundup. She denies it, but I think otherwise.
