The deer had been "topping" the Crape myrtle and a lily that Clare planted this year. The lily is still alive, but not generating any new blooms. The Crape myrtle on the other hand (“Lagerstroemia indica”) has recovered and the deer don't seem to be interested any more, so we have blooms. I like this shot because I caught a bud just starting to open.
