Look out!!!

It's amazing what we discover sometimes when we see our images on the bigger screen. When I shot this Monarch butterfly, I was wholly unaware of the Carolina mantis on the same flower head. Good news — the mantis did not sense that she was within striking distance, so the Monarch's obliviousness did not result in its demise!

Great image! I am often amazed at how much more we observe on photos than in real life. The larger size helps but I also think we see differently, focusing on different aspects, losing some of the blinders we have when living the moment.
