Steve & Jenny by rhoing

Steve & Jenny

One of Jenny's high school classmates, and a friend since 1st or 2nd grade, is getting married tomorrow, so Jenny & Steve are in town for the event. Here they're headed out the door to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

What I learned from this portrait—
Allow stuff to be in the background!
But control the depth of field to bring the focus to the subjects in the foreground.
You'd think I'd know this by now, but I'm so reluctant to shoot indoors with flash (because I suck at flash photography) that perhaps I haven't had enough opportunities to figure this out on my own. Well, till now. Sigh.

Oh, and Happy Birthday, Steve!!

Thom, I am the same way. I usually do not use flash inside. I hate the shadows and I cannot figure out how to avoid them
