Expected time for a home repair? Multiply by 4.

Or more. No matter how "small" the job may seem.

The white face on the left is the molded shower stall in our master bathroom. Twenty-plus years of at least 2 showers a day and the baseboard moldings were worn and a bit "moisture-swollen."

I knew this would be an incremental task of cutting and re-cutting new molding pieces because two of the angles are not 90°. But when I pulled off the molding piece on the left, the fractional floor tile underneath came up, too. So off I go to the store for a good tile adhesive and grout… For a baseboard molding replacement. Uh-huh. Such is home ownership.

@digitalrn Yeah, but this is stuff I can do. Especially since I'm retired. It's also an opportunity to learn about these things so that maybe I can help my kids and they won't have to call in demolding guys!

Good idea. There is plenty of info available on the proper clean-up techniques to get it thoroughly cleared up.
