Pearl Crescent [filler #17] by rhoing

Pearl Crescent [filler #17]

I patiently pursued this little guy at the edge of the lake after rowing last week.

As bright-orange-and-black as the tops of the wings are, the undersides are much more subdued; see http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-07-02

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Phyciodes tharos” or “Pearl Crescent”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1096708
