Pearl Crescent? by rhoing

Pearl Crescent?

Probably. Or maybe. There apparently are variations and difficulties in ID'ing some Crescents. From BugGuide, http://bugguide.net/node/view/462350 » “We have a number of shots submitted to BugGuide that don't quite fit the Pearl Crescent (Phyciodes tharos), nor the Northern Crescent (P. cocyta). There is likely a third species, which is still in the process of being defined. This third entity closely resembles both Pearl and Northern Crescents, but is not quite the same as either.”

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Phyciodes tharos” or “Pearl Crescent”; https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1129247

Sometimes butterflies just behave and sit nicely for good photos!
