Family reunion day in Michigan. A time or two ago, I realized that the hosting family lives about 10–15 minutes, and not far out-of-the-way from where my paternal grandparents had lived on Duck Lake. So today I drove by the house on our way back to Mom's place in Ohio. The house is now a two-story, there is more paved sidewalk and a parking apron by the road has been poured. This is a shot across the breakwater where I would fish in my grandparents' back yard. As a kid, the peninsula across the lake seemed like a country mile. Now I wonder if I could throw a baseball across it!

Very interesting and fun! I grew up on a skiing/swimming/fishing river in our back yard, and it seems you have similar memories. When I was a child, I thought nothing of it, but now I realize what a blessing it was.
