In lieu of yet another Painted Lady — https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1143667 — an orb weaver in the genus Larinioides (“Furrow spiders”) where the bricks above our garage door meet the soffit.

I don't particularly like orbs, but their webs are wonderful, especially when the mates build them side by side.
