Inside technology

Today we traveled to St. Louis before an early morning flight tomorrow. As we arrived at the light rail station, one of the ticket machines was being serviced.

Thinking about these machines, if they take credit cards for payment, then they have to be networked. But they take cash, too. ATMs are similar, but ATMs don't have to count incoming cash. Sometimes technology amazes me.

Ah, but now ATM's take cash deposits (unless there is a message on the screen saying, "no cash accepted now").

@danette But you don't feed it in with the machine counting. In my mind, counting a deposit is a whole 'nother level from dropping an envelope.
