Silvery Checkerspot [Filler] by rhoing

Silvery Checkerspot [Filler]

I have only photographed this species once before — four years ago — but it was not my 365 post that day, https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2014-07-24
So although this is a filler (taken two days ago), I have to add this to my species list on 365, https://365project.org/tags/tm-butterfly-species and the number of butterfly species I've posted now fills a page with 49.

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Chlosyne nycteis” or “Silvery Checkerspot”; https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1191022

Wonderful detail. Remember when people collected insects with pins on a board? Your way is better!

@janeandcharlie I'm not so sure that professionals and serious amateurs don't still collect physical specimens. I can imagine that the combination of physical samples *and* photographs form a pretty complete record from which to study.
