Bye-bye, land line by rhoing

Bye-bye, land line

We decided to cut the cable, so to speak, and get rid of our land line. Except for college, I only ever had three phone numbers before cell phones (and I've had three different cell numbers). The last of the land lines recently became part of our history; we discontinued service a few months ago, so this phone jack in the kitchen has become superfluous and/or obsolete.

Unfortunately, we forgot to tell the contractor about this, so I'm going to learn how to do minor drywall repair. After I took this photo, I disconnected the wall plate and dropped the wires into the wall. There are at least 3 or 4 approaches to patching a hole this size and I haven't chosen yet.

Note: We decided to give up a ceiling fan in the kitchen and it was on its own switch. So now there's an interesting wall plate on the wall: two switches and a "blank."

We gave up our land line several years ago. We did not remove any of the plugs.
I wish you well on repairing drywall. Let us see photos after you finish.

We still have a "land line" but through the computer. I never answer the calls. :-( I very rarely use it to send a fax (receiving faxes through my computer).
