Testing two alternatives that are allowed under state law: mixing with cat litter and pouring onto cardboard. In both cases, when the paint dries and hardens, it can just be tossed out with regular trash.

Our waste company collects paints once a month. They didn’t for the past few months. My neighbors had to leave their paint behind because they couldn’t get it to dry out!
@danette@thewatersphotos Results: Don't go the cat litter route!! It takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r to dry out! The pour-onto-cardboard method dries much faster. It may take two or three days depending how thickly or thinly one pours it out, but it'll still be faster than cat litter. And I know Gary always has lots of cardboard! ;)
