When we wrestled the dresser into the car, it was a Scooby-Doo “Rutro” moment: the dresser is larger than we thought. It took some doing, but we managed to get the two youth chairs on top, as well as a table that had been my dad's. All of this is going to Massachusetts this week, but here we have a stopover at Clare's mom's in Ohio.

Not sure where you have been living but if its in the States there would be bound to travel long distances. Hope it all ends safely and you have help to unload!
@maggiemae This day was a 510-mile (820km) drive. After four nights here, we had a 725-mile (1,166km) drive to visit with our kids & granddaughter … and then 1,200 miles (1,930km) home (over two days) after a good, long visit. This was last month.
I did something similar yesterday. My friend’s place is closing tomorrow. She’d already moved and had leftover furniture. Another friend often collects things for people in need, so 2 of us ladies had to wrestle a triple dresser into her van. It was heavy!
@danette When we had this dresser professionally refinished 25ish years ago, the furniture-maker was really impressed with this piece. He said it's hard to find furniture this well-made anymore. As it was, I had to render glue-and-clamp repairs to both side panels of this dresser when we arrived in Massachusetts. Had to buy a couple new clamps to pull the boards together. However, I'm sure I still have only a fraction of Ben Napier's clamp collection!
