Again, not a great photo, but it will probably be the only photo of this species this year. It is a “temporary colonist” in my location and doesn’t get this far north every year, so this will be submitted to the two websites I use to show they were here this year.

@marlboromaam While this was shot with an expensive lens, the focal length is too short. The 60mm lens required that I get much too close to get more than this single frame, and then s/he was gone. I'm still in the evaluation process since my “kit-quality” 55–250mm lens died. I need a better and wider variety of butterfly attractors in our yard before I'll plunk down $600-and up on a quality zoom lens to get these shots from a distance.
» Kit-quality zoom lens is now ~$300 … but I’d probably want a better one :)

» Also, will I stick with Canon? How much longer will the current dSLR body last? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@rhoing LOL! I can't even discuss great cameras at this point. I'm still using my Kodak digital that's around 12 years old now. I waited too late to get that great deal on that Nikon D3500 bundle with zoom lens and all the gadgets at a great price. Now it's twice what it was.
