Temporary utility pole by rhoing

Temporary utility pole

Today our Habitat for Humanity crew moved the temporary utility pole from the previous build site to the new one. This is no inconsequential task! That pole is probably somewhere between a 4×4 and a 6×6 and is buried about 3 feet in the ground. Extracting it from the previous site was one job; installing it here was a separate job.

In addition to the utility pole, an 8 foot ground rod had to be removed from the ground at the previous site and then pounded 8 feet into the ground here.

This part of “building a home” I haven’t seen before!
