Through The Front Door by rhubbard

Through The Front Door

photo 598
This abstract was taken through the front door of my son's house in Elkview West Virginia this morning. As I was looking out the front door, I noticed the unique prism effect created by the beveled glass in the door. To capture this photo I had to put the camera in full manual and turn off auto focus. Because I was standing indoors and shooting through the door I needed to increase the ISO rating to 800 to allow for a fast enough shutter speed at F10 to hand hold the shot. I decided on F10 to give me the depth of field I wanted to achieve. I wanted the truck in focus but I also wanted the door somewhat in focus. In order to achieve this I opened the door, then I focused midway between the truck and the door in the grass. Closed the door and shot the photo.
