Got a surprise this morning from my trip to my favorite spot. The manatee's were all over the river, but just would not get close enough to the pier to get an overall shot. They just kept coming up and blowing out air and then going back under. This one did stick it's mouth/nose out far enough to get a shot. There is a second one in the foreground.
@rickster549 Hi Rick. Sorry I did not comment properly yesterday night, when I first saw the pic. It was about the last Fav button I clicked, before going to bed. (Still tired from a night lost for the moon shots). This picture is amazing. I have never seen a manatee in real, but I encountered some dugongs on my travels in Australia. As the water was clear there, we could see a shadow of the body, but never ever saw a snout/mouzzle like this one. Just great, great, great.
@mona65 No problem Mona. Just wish the water was a little clearer around here and they would come a little closer to the pier, so I could get a full shot of one of them. One day.
