Was working out in the yard, and just happened to see this fellow fly by and land in a tree a couple of houses down. So had to run in and grab the camera, fortunately, it wasn't in a hurry, so got lot of shots.
Fantastic photo! Great DOF, lighting, colors, focus, subject. I had a Cooper's hawk surveying the menu options in my yard last evening but I didn't even think to take his picture. Instead I ran out the door clapping my hands so the predator would go hunt dinner somewhere else; I don't want my little bird-feeder friends to be his next meal!
