My wife started screaming this afternoon about something outside our back window. Run over to the window and saw these two critters (armadillo's). One's bad enough, but two is much worse. Guess that's what I get for backing up to the woods. :-)
The only time I am ever likely to see an armadillo is behind a glass screen at the zoo!! To me this is a wonder to behold. Clearly they are not held in the same esteem by yourself. Thanks for sharing.
@milaniet@rookynook@ludwigsdiana@terryliv@gilbertwood@koalagardens@rosiekind@joannakate Thanks everyone for your comments, view's and fav's. The armadillo is a real nuisance down here in the south. They will tear up your yard from all of the digging with that snout. It's almost hard to get a good head shot, as it never seems to come up. Guess in a way, they might be a help, as they are searching for bugs and worms. Just wish they could do it without tearing up the yard. Fortunately, these were in the back yard, which is not totally covered in grass and they were headed towards the neighbors yard, so maybe they'll like it better over there. Don't think they are all that tame, but they are really near-sighted. As long as you move slow, you can get up pretty close, but if they see you, they will usually high-tail it back to the woods. And if they are sort of hemmed up, they will jump straight up in the air, to get away. They are strange creatures. On a sadder note, with that bad vision, they and the traffic don't mix. They are constantly running out in the road and getting run over, so you see them a lot on the side of the roads. Hate to admit it, but these two, were sort of cute, rooting around like that. :-)
