Second Attempt

Another shot of the Orion Nebula. The skies weren't quite as clear tonight but armed with the knowledge of last nights attempt i though i would try again. This one is the result of 80 1 second frames plus 20 dark frames. Probably better on black!
What are dark frames?

@jgpittenger hi Jane. Lens was wide open only f5.6 as my 300mm lens is not very fast. ISO 20000 which seems very high but with only 1 second exposure i was trying to get as much light as possible. I then took 80 or so shots plus 20 dark frames (same settings with lens cap on) the software uses the dark frames to remove digital noise. Its never going to be as good as a shot using a star tracker but i was surprised what can be achieved with fairly basic kit.
