Viaduct Colour

Another shot of the Welland valley viaduct. I have left this shot in colour to show the new brick work where the viaduct has recently been repaired. I say recently but it been repaired over the last few years and it's still ongoing. It's a shame that they can't match the original brick work but I assume it's down to cost constraints
Fantastic capture. Worth a few favs!

@julzmaioro Thanks it's the longest masonry viaduct in the UK 82 arches in all I'm roughly in the middle in this shot!

It is a shame the bricks don't match. Spoils the look of such an impressive looking structure which is sad, as it is quite distracting. But your composition is excellent and you've captured another beautiful scene. Oh, and I know where I can find a viaduct close by. I'd forgotten all about it but your reply on yesterday's image jogged my memory, do thank you. This is a fav by the way 😊😊

@paul10 Thanks Paul. I agree they are distracting I have processed this in B&W which cuts the contrast of the different bricks a lot but I posted this in colour just to show the amount of work that's been done.

@rjb71. Totally get that mate. Brick difference or not it's still a beautiful image 👍

Always a fav for me Richard. A terrific vanishing point and soooo upright.

Lovely clear picture. Something alien about how it sits in the natural landscape. 🙂

What a very impressive looking structure and a beautifully captured scene with the river flowing through on the diagonal. The new bricks do stand out like a sore thumb but in time they will blend in too.

@stephanies My dad was telling me tonight that when it was built they made a brick works at the site using local materials so it's not possible to replace like for like.
