The Grace Spitfire putting on a lovely display at the Burghley Battle proms in some lovely light. I think this might be my favourite aircraft shot this year but as i took 617 shots it might not be for long!
I wonder if this was the same one that flew over the 1940’s festival in Woodhall Spa this afternoon? We only managed silhouette pictures! This is a fantastic shot!
@carole_sandford Thanks I would imagine that one would be a BBMF aircraft as they are very close buy at Coningsby. This one is owned by the Grace family and based at Sywell in Northamptonshire
@gardenfolk Thanks.There just for fun. I've always loved aircraft and originally got into photographing them when the Vulcan was in it's last season of flight and I wanted to capture some shots of it before it was retired. There are quite a few fly past local to me so I like to capture them when I can.
Super shot, great light too! A Lancaster flew right over my house yesterday afternoon (I got a great view but didn't have the camera to hand!) perhaps it was returning home from Burghley!
