There were several groups of fieldfare flying around the moorland this afternoon and one group landed briefly on a tree. It would have made a great shot if I'd got the whole tree, as it's a lovely shaped tree and the birds were really well placed, but I took this and then as I zoomed out, they moved on.

Thanks. It was sunny and clear in that direction at that time - it was windy and the clouds were coming and going all day... I took at shot just 20 minutes later in town and it's was all cloudy and gloomy looking!
I saw this lovely shot when it popped up yesterday, but was being disciplined and stuck to the task I was supposed to be doing! I'm trying to teach myself post production skills on Lightroom/Photoshop, having done several courses and found it hard to assimilate all the information in one bite!
With my new viewpoint (!!!) you might consider cropping off a chunk of sky, so you've got a really punchy letterbox shot of plump silhouetted birds on branches. Alternatively you might tell me to mind my own business! :-) ps Fav'd
It looks a beautiful clear day there
They seem to be common around here, but they are an RSPB red status bird.
