I've spent this week in a new school. I've never worked with children like this before, it's a school in a very deprived area with some very challenging children . I've had it cushy for the majority of my working life, working in a lovely rural school, with middle class / farming families so this week has been quite an experience and something of an eye-opener I guess!
That classroom looks really familiar. I taught Severely handicapped classes for 10 years and have subbed for 13. Cushy is nice, but the kids who have it more difficult are so rewarding when you connect with them.

Do you think so? I didn't like this classroom and it's not like the ones I usually work in, it seemed very dull and untidy to me! I was only at this school for one week and I'm glad about that - I'm so happy the week is over, it's been a tough one! (It was just a bit of supply work, I think you call it substitute?)
