It has been a pretty bleak day in the moorlands. I'm not complaining though; I like bleak and we've had a great summer up until today!

Bleak can be very atmospheric and in fact powerful, as your capture shows. Is that heather in bloom? I like the way the background recedes into the mist, fav for me.

@tristansmum Thanks for the fav. Yes, the heather is in bloom. It looks amazing, more so on a sunny day! Another photographer has been in my area recently snapping the heather around these rocks - http://365project.org/roachling/365/2014-08-07 ,and other areas in the peak district, which shows it quite nicely (the heather has been gorgeous this year!) ...

Instant fav Louise. I think the portrait aspect really suits this image. I live the way the rain and most gives it such an atmospheric feel. I can almost fell the silence and peace and quiet. It's tangible in this image. The heather is such a gorgeous colour too!
