Wonderful in flight shot! I haven't been able to get close enough to one, even with my 500 zoom lens, to get any kind of photo. Nice work. Safe travels.

Thanks for all the comments and well wishes. We're safely back in Maine. A bald eagle greeted us upon return. The light was poor and my tripod was wobbly, so I'm trying to decide whether to run that shot to give some closure to the departing heron, or to show you one of my older Maine shots from before I went down to Florida in February. Stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion! ;-)
