O.K. So what does this Florida bug have to do with the super moon?
Simple:
I found a nice sight that might be helpful if you'll be attempting to "shoot the moon" tonight. I may get rained out of this one. Happy Trails to you!

Thanks for the kind words. We're "far flung" enough that some of us will have to get some action tonight with the super moon. Good luck.
Beautiful capture, Rob. Love the clarity and the colors of this little guy! I might try for that moon ... have never been lucky with a moon shot yet. And we don't know about cloud cover here yet either. It's a fifty-fifty chance.

Sorry, but I have no idea what it is. Moon shots were diappointing. We had clear skies, but despite a tripod and remote release, I didn't get any good captures. Exposure was good, but clarity was not. I'm beginning to question whether I'm just asking too much of a 28-300 lens, if the quality (Tamron) of my lens is suspect, some other technique of mine that I haven't identified yet, or if my sensor may not be as good as I had hoped. Time will tell. How about you? Moon shots?

Guess if I'm going to shooting these 6 legged critters, I better start learning to identify them, eh? And to think that my dad was an entomologist!

Thanks, all. And, by the way, if anyone knows what the heck it is, please let me know! ;-)

Might take a while. Most of my books are "birds" but I'm curious too. Will let you know.
