I noticed that about our local goslings, too. Crazy how fast they filled out and nearly look like adults now. We have Sooooo many geese around us. It's nuts. Great catch, Rob!

Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to comment. Once I got too close they headed across the field and down to the river, so I left. Never gave a lot of thought to the maturity process with them. At first I thought they were all adults.

Wish I could see it day to day. Almost seem impossible. It's been a good season for the geese. Heavy rains were devastating for the loons, unfortunately.

Karen and Shirley, Thanks for the kind words. I seen geese on the water, and on lawns in parks, etc., but never before in an uncut field. I was coming home from getting a haircut. Chalk one up for ALWAYS having the camera at hand!
