Great hHorned Owl and Red Shouldered Hawk

When I got a little too close to the nest the owl took off and landed in a nearby pine. Scared the hawk who had been perched nearby. It made a couple of strafing runs then left the area.
Won't see these 2 together everyday. Great job getting the shot Rob.

Quite a shot - I probably would have been standing there with my mouth open in awe rather than shooting (did that a lot at football games unfortunately). What a sight to catch. Great job.

WOW, Rob!! Lucky you. . .I've never seen a real owl in the wild, except once and it was too small to tell what it really was!

Grood question, B.
They tell me that the great horned will even take on eagles, though in this case it was definately the hawk doing the sky diving! Thanks for taking time to comment. Always good to hear from you.
