After more than a month off the water (travel and health) it was really nice to see my loon family doing so well. Yesterday I saw all four from the shore but today they were spread out. Maybe tomorrow I can get another family portrait.

Yep, back home and back in the saddle. Loons appear to have flown. Either out to the coast, or farther south. I don't know. Should still have some good water time before things ice over, though.
Hi Lynn, Always nice to hear from you. I do miss my loons, but it's good to know that they really are "in a better place." Or at least a good place!

Thanks, Cecilia! Glad you liked it. Caught in the last of the brilliant "breeding plumage. They've headed out to the coast and possibly south now, and doubtless looking much more ordinary.

Love this...so nice to hear both chicks fledged this year.
