Well, I did it...I wanted to put up a shot that included some moving moments of my 365 project. I wont bore you with "the why", just that there was something valuable that I learned during each of these shots/experiences. I really have learned and grown so much over the year.
I appreciate each and everyone of you. Your daily support and encouragement has kept me going. I feel like i have friends all over the globe. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This has been a very tough week for me emotionally with this project. I will definitely continue just maybe on a different level, I am not sure exactly yet. But, one thing I do know for sure is that this year has been life changing for me and I owe it all to this project and each and everyone of you. I thank you, most sincerely from the bottom of my heart.
Great collage - a fav of favs! Congratulations!!! (here's the refrain again...pretty pretty pleeeease....stick around...can't wait to see your 3650th shot!!).
I like this, great idea. Hey, I have a question. I am having trouble uploading. It won't let me upload a picture. It says it up loads and then when I try to put the text in , it takes you immediately to the home page. Any ideas?
Wow, congrats! and boy I aspire to become half the photographer you are. Every random street shot I see as a potential photo I think of you..and wish you were walking with me to show me how to get the courage to talk to them and take their photo. I look forward to another year of your awesomness!
Congrats Robin! Well you made it to 365. And as you say what a year. It's been a privilege to watch you grow as a photographer and to get to "know" you. Oh and you simply have to stick around here, OK?
Congratulations on your first 365! I'm sad I just found you and I hope you continue! You have really inspired me! I look forward to your next 365 (I hope!) Congratulations! Yay!
Robin I feel like I have known you for a much longer time than 365 days. I love your pictures and also when you drop in and leave comments for me. so congratulation is in order and I'm happy that you will continue at your own leisure..looking forward to many many more of your very interesting pictures especially the street photos.
ROBIN!!!! i can't tell you how much you have touched me through your amazing photos and encouragement...i really hope we keep in touch, and that you consider coming back!!! (((HUGS))))
Congratulations Robin... Really very well done on the year... it's been great seeing your part of the world through your eyes and a big thanks to both you and Constance for inspiring me to venture into street photography...
Yay!!!! Super congrats on a fanTABulous album! You have been such an inspiration and such a huge support. I LOVE your work and am really looking forward to seeing you in whatever capacity you choose to continue in. Also, how cool to have a real live meet next month?!
Awesome, awesome stuff. CONGRATS !!!
Yay! Congrats to you! I know that you have touched a lot of lives with your photos and the stories and sentiments that you've shared with them. I admire you and what you've been able to show all of us. Thank you :)
Congratulations on completing the year Robin. I know we only hooked up in the last few months but i've really enjoyed following your really excellent street candids. I'm so glad you're continuing in some capacity and looking forward to whatever comes next ;o)
Wonderful wonderful. You are one of the special people here for me. I am so glad to have "met" you - even at this late point in your project. I am glad youwill continue because we are helping each other learn and it is fun to do that with you. This is a beautiful and moving tribute of your year.
Bink--WOW! Awesome and inspiring.
You are my 365 mentor/sensei/ideal/model/advisor/coach/counselor/guru/idol. I would be in a very different place if you had not encouraged & supported my 365 Project. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Your year/journey has been amazing--you are such a wonderful photographer with a keen eye and a sensitive heart. This is just the beginning...LOVE & FAV YOU FOREVER!
xoxo,
lo po
Congrats Robin. Youve inspired so many people on here. And youve shown so much compassion in your shots. I looked forward to your photos every day! Well done! And I hope we still get to see you from time to time.
Congratulations. I remember seeing your photos when I first joined 365 a year ago. I first commented in July on your puddle reflection shot, (still great by the way), I followed your transition to street people, and the upgrade of your camera. I loved watching your changes and growth. You have a great eye and an uncanny way of capturing people. I admire you and your photography. I am glad I will still be seeing your wonderful visions of California. Hope to meet you someday. Kudos again for completing 365 year one!
Congratulations on a job well done. Your dedication to this site has been an inspiration. You have given it your all, and it is much appreciated. I have thoroughly enjoyed your photos, and your 365 collage is a great way to end this year. Looking forward to future pics from you, perhaps a book someday.
Congratulations on 365, I will always remember you a huge part of 365, your images, your constant support and encouragement! I wish you all the best but hope to see you again at some point!
And from the Heart of my Bottom.. it has been a pleasure to stalk (er sorry) follow your project... you are an awesome photographer....
glad you will be sticking round..
Congratulations on making it to 365....
Congratulations Robin!!!! I am so happy to hear that you won't be leaving!!! I so enjoy logging in everyday to see your wonderful photography! Great compilation to finish your year!!! :o)
Robin you are a real inspiration and I'm so glad to have been following you. You are an amazing photographer and I'm so glad you are continuing on. Congratulations xx
Robin,
Think about picking the photos this way. It will improve yoru eye as a photographer. Think about what you like about those 12 shots. The lines, the contrasts, the compositions, the subject, the feeling, all of that. And go for it. Nobody will be hurt or offended. This is all for fun and for our learning. I don't care about placing in a challenge but I loved taking the shots and wish I could try to shoot these kind of photos more often. Have fun and stop fretting!!!!
Major kudos, Robin. A bittersweet moment, perhaps. You say you've gained so much from 365; what you've GIVEN, my friend, is ever so much more. Immeasurable, actually. What a wonderful collage for Day 365 -- we'll all look forward to more. I hope for a "meet-up" whenever I'm able to get out to see Jenn and Heather.
I was looking through your album the other day... You have changed a lot over these 365 days as a photographer. Amazing stuff Robin! You can be proud. Congratulations! Thanks for your daily visits, comments, and support... They were really appreciated. Looking forward to seeing what you do next. Keep in touch!
Well, you were halfway through when I started my project. I'm glad I found you early on. I have enjoyed your photos and hopefully will continue to do so in the future.
Zoo is up in the air right now. Remodel of a bathroom is starting to happen.
Dear Robin, I have enjoyed your photo and your work has been a great inspiration! And your lovely and always supportive comments! I totally understand that you need a break but I really hope that you'll come back. However I wish you all the best, may your dreams come true :) and I'll miss you here on 365! Bye bye
A FAV for me! Congratulations and Happy 365th!!! It has been a pleasure sharing this ride with you here in 365. Hope that we will all still share this for more years to come! Cheers and here's for another 365 and maybe more! =)
Congrats Robin! Your works and your words have helped inspired me to continue to take photos everyday... you have no idea:-) funny that I used to think that you were a guy when I was a couple of months into the project...which was pretty embarrassing! If I were you I'd find a way to publish your work - perhaps something like the best of Robin's 365!! Fav.
Congrats Robin!!!
your portal has been always a pleasure to visit! getting up close with strangers and knowing about their stories a little.. a 365 of characters! A project well done!! :)
Congrats on finishing your 365-project. You have every right to be proud of yourself! I hope you will stay on here in some way, as I only recently discovered your marvellous photos and would love to see more of your art.
Congratulations Robin, I'm glad I've had the opportunity to see your wonderful photography! I look forward to seeing more from you, I'm so glad you're staying :)
Gorgeous collage for your finale. I have discovered you lately and so in my mind you came to 365 after me. I love you photography and the way you did here. i find it encouraging that we have some common interest in photography. Hope to see you here. Parting is hard.
Beautiful collage for your finale!!! Your photos have moved me and you are truly blessed with your gift! Congrats!! And I hope you will continue to post pics! Thanks for sharing with us!
Your pictures have been incredible, each single one! They have meant a lot to me too and I hope that you will continue to post even if it's not every day :-)
What a brilliant celebration of your year, my friend! And a definite fav. for me. You have been such an inspiration to me and also a source of sheer delight with your witty and insightful comments on my photos. Congratulations on your superb achievement and I am so glad to see that you'll be continuing in whatever capacity. Big hugs and loads of encouragement to do something with this magnificent body of work that needs to be published far and wide.
Congratulations Robin, not only on your commitment to your project, your friendly encouragement to others on this site and all the touching photos you've shared with all of us over the past year but on the tremendous growth you've shown as a photographer. You may have been an amateur when you started this project but your recent pictures have the look and emotional impact that one would expect from a professional photograper. Great job Robin!
Robin, you have been and are a wonderful inspiration. Your dedication to showing the subjects of your portraits and your care in telling their stories is absolutely calling for great respect. I love your work, and look forward to buying your book from a shelf soon, I am sure something will come of your work. Congratulations on your 365 and I look forward to seeing more from you :)
Congratulations on reaching 365 photos! I have loved looking at your amazing shots every day, and reading the lovely comments you leave on mine! i totally agree with Mimo and believe your work should be put into a book, good luck with your photography in the future x
I didn't realize you were so close to 365. Your photos have been amazing. You are incredibly gifted. Hope you continue to post your fabulous photos. Nice collage for your final picture. I'm sure we'll see your work on exhibit some day or in an awesome book.
I loved everyone of your photos. I totally understand what you mean about this year having changed you. Through this project I too have learned to look at the world with different eyes...and feel as though I have made friends throughout the globe! You are amazing photographer and I know you will do great things with this!
Wow! Congrats on 365!!! I love your photos so much! You are extremely talented and know how to capture emotion and take a photo that truly tells a story! I always see myself imagining what happened right before the photo was taken or what got the person where they are. You are an inspiration! Congrats on 365 and hope you continue to post!!
You have such a beautiful project, and I am so happy how positively it had an impact on your life and believe me on more peoples life, because you inspired so many here including myself.
Your photos are so inspiring that I re learned how to see people differently, how too think differently about what I don't know or can't understand. Your photos taught me not to be prejudice with people I don't know, yes, it was that important to see your photos. The power of your inspiration is huge my friend.
Congratulations and thank you so much.
Aww, excellent, Robin. Congrats on making it until the end. I do know somewhat how you feel, continue at your own pace and I do hope you stick around. It's very hard to leave this community, it seems! The people are so nice (: I've loved your photos as they are such wonderful and intriguing portraits and not something I seem to have a flair for at all. I hope you'll consider making some sort of book out of them--I think it would sell.
You know the story: I kept checking your photos for so long but thought you were too good to be followed by an amateur like me. Until the day you commented one of my photos... I actually even know which one it was. Found out you're a simple, nice, gentle, sweet and talented woman, with a big heart and great soul. Someone who sees people for who they are and not for how they look.
Your photos are a history book. A book filled with feelings, smiles, sorrows... a book filled with life!
I agree with Alecio... you did make me look people differently... with an open heart. You see what they have inside, their true treasure and show it in your photos for us to see. Maybe that's why they allow you to capture their moments, that's why they show them selves to you, coz you see their real selves. And that's how you've showed YOUR self to all of us. Congrats to you, and lucky us to have you "around" during your magnificent project. You're my FAV, always!
A huge, huge, huge congratulations to you. I just looked back at your first photo here and hey ... a face ... an image which suggested what was to come. I flicked through some more early photos ... one after another we see your talent emerge and we see you grow.
I strongly believe that you are an incredibly talented photographer who not only has a knack of recording people, but who empathises and 'feels' the emotions of the people being captured. Not for you the willy nilly I;ve caught a great photo ... oh no ... what you give us are the real people that you meet behind the camera. Just looking at your photos we meet the personalities and this is so special. It says very clearly that your work is about supporting people and ensuring we see them ... many of them the hidden, the dispossessed, the ignored ... those who life leaves behind. This is too valuable to be lost!
I think your talent is unique and I think you need to take your work beyond 365. You need to be known as a photographer in your local community ... you need to get your work out there and exhibited. You need to ensure that the work you do is not ignored ... that the people you capture are not ignored. What you do is so important.
Please, please, please take your work forward. Please find, if you haven;t already, local groups where your work can be shown and you can share and learn further skills. It would be awful if you didn't do this. If I can sell photos with only a tiny fraction of the skill you have ... just think what you can achieve. Please go there Robin ... you are too talented not to!
And with that ... again congrats on completing your 365 which has been an incredible achievement! And I loved being friends with you when I was contributing here! :)
You've taken some absolutely stunning pictures, and your comments are always very supportive and welcome. Thanks for keeping the rest of us going, too :)
Congratulations on making 365 and doing it in such amazing style. Your first "birthday" was also on mine! Sorry I missed this yesterday, but I love, love, love, the way you ended your year. No explanations needed for the photos you choose. You have such an amazing talent for photography, no matter what your subject matter is, and I'm still with the book crowd. You are one of my special people here, so I'm so glad you are sticking around. I'm so looking forward to getting to know you better. Kindred spirits are such a balm to the soul....
Yay, Happy 365!!! Your photos have brought so much laughter, reflection, joy and hope to all of us. Looking forward to continuing our 365 project and beyond friendship! :) What should we do on Tuesday? Zoo? Bug exhibit at Natural History Museum? Baldwin Hills overlook?
what nice things to say and what a wonderful ending photo!
i can not imagine you not having photos on here for us to look forward to seeing each day. hope you keep on in some way.
all the best to you... you wrote a very heart felt message.
what a fantastic idea. I gotta say your portraits have been an inspiration to me. I love the emotions you capture and the stories you illustrate...thank you for showing me the world you see :)
Thank you. I have not been here that long, but you have commented frequently and made my work seem worthwhile. My 'growth' has been a roller-coaster and in the short time I have been doing this I have changed a lot. I am sure from what you say you have too. A great photographer like you should get out there and do more. But please remember your friends here. It is important for us to be inspired by people like you. Thanks and good wishes for your future.
So many congratulations for making 365!! You work is spectacular Robin and I want to thank you for sharing such a wonderful collage of your artistic talents. Your work is very inspirational. Looking forward to more of your photography.
Congratulations!!! I have become a big fan of your work since I started this project, and you have inspired me to really start thinking about street shots. I haven't gotten any that I am proud of yet, but I will keep working on it. I hope to see you around still. :)
Robin, I can't believe I missed your 365th photo. I've been a little lax in commenting the past few days. So, congratulations on an incredible, incredible accomplishment. It's hard to believe that you just began photographing with the beginning of this project. You have a gift and I certainly hope you go forward with it in some capacity. Thank you for sharing your visions. You have touched our hearts day after day. And thank you for the time you spend, day after day, commenting on our work. It is so, so appreciated.
I think it took me five minutes to finally get scrolled down to the bottom of all the comments so I could add mine! That just shows you how many people you have affected with your wonderful photos. I hope you will still hang out and share your work once in awhile, but I understand not necessarily wanting to do one every day! Congratulations on the making it all of the way through!
Sorry I'm so late...huge congratulations to you on completing your project!!! What a fantastic achievement and a lovely way to finish using these wonderful pics.
Congratulations, Robin. What a great collage of your fantastic work to mark the 365 completion. I am glad you haven't gone away completely as we have come to look forward to your wonderful character photos.
Happy to hear you're sticking around....
