Penetrating Gaze

I saw this Red-Tailed Hawk on top of a Eucalyptus tree and decided to try for a shot with back-lighting, it took exception to my presence and kicked off the branch it occupied. Ended up getting more than I bargained for! From my viewfinder I got a new appreciation for what a ground squirrel's view of impending doom might be ( or the Gopher snake from earlier in the week! ).
