adorable! (I still can't believe I am saying that) Is she really your pet?

@ellen Yes she's really my pet, I've kept other Jumping spiders for several years. The females can be quite long lived, with understanding fear fades away. I know they can bite but must be provoked to do so, she's accustomed to me feeding her and is much less jumpy than her wild relatives. She's very well behaved when out for a photo shoot, maybe because she's so well fed there isn't much incentive to strike out in search of prey. @kimmistephens

@ellen @robv They make really good pets . . . especially this particular species. I have caught and kept more than one of these little guys as a pet.

I have only met one jumping spider, and over the course of several days, I never saw him jump. I interpreted that as him trusting me. I felt we had bonded, but I really have no idea what I'm talking about. If my little friend had jumped, I think I would have had a heart attack. :)
