Little Jewel by robv

Little Jewel

This is an adult female Sassacus papenhoei, one of the brightest colored if small(~5mm) jumping spiders I've come across. She's eating a Giant Whitefly and has settled nicely into her petri dish home, even laid some eggs in an leaf wrapped nest. I think I'll call her Jewel.
Spectacular photo! Invertebrates are amazing.

@claireclinch Hi, I used a Canon MPE-65 macro lens. That lens is dedicated to macro only, it covers magnifications from 1-5X. I also used the Canon MT-24EX dual head flash, I've used other flashes off and on camera with custom diffusers that give similar results. This was a single exposure at about 3X, it's heavily cropped. There's lots of information on this lens/flash combo online. Thanks for your comments. @lindylou
