Torn and abandoned. by robz

Torn and abandoned.

The old style of hail nets suffered badly - and were often not worth repairing.
makes for a good abstract

@cruiser Hi Chris - I think the colour makes it a bit abstracty. Cheers

@sarahlth hi Sarah - Thanks for your nice comment - I liked all of the lines!

@taffy Thanks for having a look Taffy - it does look like fishing nets but these are actually on an apple orchard - the hail just destroys some of them. The farmers often just leave them to hang - too expensive to remove. Small family orchards are no longer viable up here. Cheers

Love the lines and color and abstract-y-ness of this shot!...really like how you framed it..with room on both sides and yet the two poles are there, and also the different angles as they slightly lean in toward each other.

@granagringa I'm so glad you like this image Madeline - we saw all these nets on the one drive and it was quite fascinating. As you said, they did have great lines and angles. The "negative" effect made the colours more interesting. I don't know if it would classify as an abstract. I'm still unsure of what does and does not!! Is it not allowed to be a discernible "thing"? All very tricky! Many thanks Rob
