Lamington N P Video

The Whip Birds in the rainforest were wonderful. To catch their calls required a video clip - so I made a small video showcasing parts of the Lamington N.P. in the Gold Coast Hinterland. P.S. The whip bird call is actually produced by 2 birds - the male starts the call and the female finishes it (if she feels like it!!)
How wonderful to hear their calls and to have a "peek" into the rainforest. It looks beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing this.

What a glorious bird call! So tuneful and interesting. Is that your voice speaking? Love the video, such a brilliant look into the details of the habitat.

Your video was fascinating! Sadly the speakers on my computer are not up to scratch so I couldn't really hear the commentary. The bird calls came through though!

@casablanca Hi Casablanca - whip birds and cat birds are the two which always let you know that you are in real rainforest. Thanks for feedback on the video - it's the first time I've used the narrative ability. You do feel a bit silly sitting there talking to your computer!! But it's easier than inserting captions. Cheers Rob

@fbailey Hi FB - At least you heard the Whip Birds - that was the main point of interest. I love the way they work together to make that sound. Cheers Rob

@30pics4jackiesdiamond OR - was the park named after lamingtons??!! All good questions - so good that I had to google it - apparently both were named after a Governor of Qld - Lord Lamington - whose maid also accidently invented the edible lamington. Who would have known!! :)

@taffy Thanks Taffy - I'm glad it worked - it was my first go at using the narrative so you were my guinea pigs! Mainly it was to let you hear the Whip Birds - they were so good on that day. Cheers.

Beautiful. Btw I just discovered that for some reason I was not following you: incredible. But now I have corrected the mistake!

@caterina Hi Caterina - thanks so much for the follow, that's very kind of you. I'm afraid you will find my photos are sometimes a bit strange - assorted odds and ends that seem interesting at the time. LOL I'm pleased you liked the video - the Whip Birds are among my favourites. Cheers Rob

I really enjoyed the video but I couldn't really hear you- maybe you could put your narrative under your introduction in the commentary. Wonderful job- you are a good tour guide!

@olivetreeann Hi Ann - thanks for your feedback. This is the first time I've tried the narrative. It's much quicker than the captions but I didn't know how the volume would work. Strangely enough it was OK on my computer but maybe it doesn't translate well to all devices. I think I can make it louder and then people can just turn down their volume if they wish. I hope you hard the Whip Birds - they were the stars of the show. :)

@jgpittenger Hi Jane - it is a beautiful place - no weeds too, which is always a plus. I hope you could hear the WhipBirds - apparently the sound was not too good - it was my first go at a commentary. Cheers
