Leonardo DaVinci had the most incredible range of interests and ideas. This is a model of his design which utilized raft like shoes and air filled discs to allow a person to walk on water. Most of his designs were never actually produced in life size - some appeared more likely to work than others.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Jackie - yes - they had a model for the tank and apparently the gears, as shown on his plans, would not mesh properly. I'll put up a photo of it. Cheers.
@caterina Hi Caterina - you are so right - such an amazing breadth of interests and just so incredibly clever- and so many of his ideas are in use today. Just amazing.
@taffy Hi Taffy - he does look like a skier doesn't he - don't know that this one would work - but he also had plans for a lifesaving ring and an underwater breathing apparatus which are honestly just prototypes for what is used today! Amazing!
@casablanca Hi Casablanca - Incredible - 500 years before his time. So many ideas being used now! We are so lucky to have this travelling exhibition at Toowoomba. :)
