From "The Goddess of 1967"

In 2000 a film crew came to Lightning Ridge and constructed this reproduction church. They used it in their film which was about a rich young Japanese man who travels to Australia with the intention of buying a Citroën DS car (the goddess of the film's title - nicknamed the Déesse, after its initials in French, déesse being French for "goddess") that he has found for sale on the net. Once there things do not quite go as planned ... and he ends up on a road journey with a blind girl.
At the end of their filming the company left the church standing - it fits into the area quite nicely....
Quite charming really Fav

@suzanne234 Scrooges Headstone? I didn't even know he met a sad end!! We used to have an auction house which specialized in selling used film props. It was excellent - we once owned 25 black "Mary Poppins" umbrellas.... :)

@golftragic All that rusty stuff - probably all found locally too!!

@robz Haha, he changed his ways after the visit from the ghost of Christmases to come. I presume he eventually met a happy end!

I need to ask....why did you want 25 Mary Poppins Umbrellas? it's not as if you even have frequent downpours....if ever
June 26th, 2018
@robz Yeah, without a doubt.
June 27th, 2018
@suzanne234 LOL - it was the thrill of the buy - I seem to remember we paid about $5 for the lot! Had them for years - gave lots away - still have a couple!! My Dad and I are both auction tragics!!
June 27th, 2018
@robz Haha, would you believe I work at one, only once a fortnight, making out the invoices on auction day, but it's plenty enough time to bring home all sorts of tat :)

@suzanne234 AWW - that would have to be the best job in the world!! I am so incredibly jealous!!
