This is the second big weekend in a row - last week was the Race Day - this week it's the Australian Small Winemakers Show. This is a wonderful event hosted by our small town. Winemakers who crush under 500 tons of grapes are eligible to enter. Entries come from all over Australia and are judged in approximately 85 different categories. Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards are determined by a panel of national judges - with a Gold Medal being awarded to any wine which reaches the magical 55.5 points. On the Saturday the Public Tasting Event takes place - over a time span of 4 hours attendees can taste their choices of approx 1100 different wines - with the Gold and Silver winners being the popular choices!!! Of course!!
@jyokota Hi Junko - there were quite a lot of entries from W.A. - a few I can remember were - Bettenays, Butler Crest, Churchview and Mandoon Estate. Mandoon Estate did very well - exceptionally good wines. It's an excellent event for small wineries - and for our area. Good fun too! Cheers Rob
@hermann And so many Gold and Silver medal winnning wines to taste - the way it's organized is a credit to Stanthorpe and to all the volunteers who help. Great day!
So many wines to choose from to taste.
I think I would be rolling around on the ground after a few.lol
