An interesting experiment. by robz

An interesting experiment.

Because my camera is what it is I often have to use odd settings to trick it into doing what I want. But then the photos are sometimes very grainy. From memory i think that might have been the case here. i know i slightly blurred it and used a very light watercolour effect to make that big white branch look not so bad. And then I didn't try anything else! So Junko's and Casablanca's @jyokota @casablanca suggestion to increase the contrast to bring out the lighting was interesting - and that's what week 48 in the 52 week challenge focused on - edit, leave, go back and check! Anyway I I had a go at increasing the contrast and here are the two images - I think it worked and that the white branch was no worse in the new version. Which one do you like better?
Wow you are being so creative !

I might be tempted to pull the contrast up a little more still..... but it is a personal thing! Well done.

I like the bottom one.

Funny- I like the top one better. I think the colors look a little washed out in the bottom one. You had a good go at it!

The difference isn't that noticeable -- maybe a little more contrast?

Hi Frida, Jane,Casablanca,Jacqueline,Lesley, Ann and Taffy - I just wanted to thank you all for bothering to read all of this and kindly give your feedback. Funnily enough the top one was the one with the higher contrast. So it seems that personal preference is very hard to quantify - and I often wonder if different laptops and computers show slightly different colours and sharpness? All very interesting! Anyway - thank you all again for your time and your responses - I really appreciate them. Cheers Rob
