A strange native tree - usually confined to outback regions.

Think Lightning Ridge, or Wilcania, or other assorted places where strange things happen. And then the lone, dead tree in the WWYD challenge was crying out for decorations......
Ha ha ha, that is very funny! The Whirlygig Tree! (That's what we call washing lines that spin......do you?)

Love it!

Haha - was it part of the ' burn your bra' campaign of some years ago? And all the bras are of different colours to make the site more attractive. Great find and shot. I like the terranean.

I think this is terrific - a very unique interpretation!

@casablanca Hi Casablanca - we used to the Hills Hoist - which was the spin around one favoured by kids as a ready made swing! I have memories of getting into awful trouble for doing it a damage! Sadly they have nearly disappeared from modern back-yards - not enough room and too "unsightly". I wish to say though - I have never added to a bra-tree! :) XX

@olivetreeann Hi Ann - thanks for your comment - however, these nearly always appear outside a pub - so there was probably great hilarity involved in getting those higher ones up to their perches!! :)

@summerfield Hi Vikki - the imagination boggles at the thought of how these came about. They are nearly always outside a pub in the country - say no more! :)

@gilbertwood Hi Denise - I feel I must add a rider to this - "I hereby declare that I have never added to a Bra Tree!!" Lol. Cheers Rob

@fbailey Lol - thanks FB - those bare branches just brought back funny memories. :)

@sangwann Thanks Dione - I'm afraid they probably were not made as a part of any very serious ideas - totally just a bit of crazy fun outside a country pub. And, as you said, it is usually in some sort of interesting, out of the way countryside. :)

@koalagardens We first saw one of these at Lightning Ridge - funnily enough it seemed quite at home! :)

@777margo Hi Margo - thanks for your comment. Unfortunately this one is a composite for the WWYD challenge. The real ones that we have seen have tended to have bras which look like they've had a much harder life than these ones! :)

We have the same tree species on Beaver Island!! So funny. And yes, our 'blooms' are quite decayed looking!

Hahahahaha! :D
(Laughed so much I nearly fell off the sofa)

@taffy Truly an international species then :) I've often wondered about the rituals that must accompany the making of them!......

@4rky :) All a bit of madness. Thanks for having a look!

This is a very creative tree !

oh, this tree produces strange fruits...are they ready for harvesting, or do they need some more time to mellow? Great find :D
