My get pushed partner asked me to create a tryptych which gave a feel for the area where I lived. I grew up on the Gold Coast in Queensland - before it became a tourist mecca. This combined image highlights the best memories of the area in those days - before the highrise and the glitz.....
Another lovely, well-crafted and thought-provoking triptych Rob. Wouldn't it be good if we could turn back time - selectively, of course. I loathe and detest highrise and glitz.
I’ve loved your triptychs! They’ve fit together so seemlessly! We’re het pushed partners this week - you’ve made some great photos with lots of lights and darks. How about post processing a photo you take this week into infrared?
This is done so nicely- I love the way each scene blends into the other- exactly like dreams and memories. We've got places like this in the US too- natural habitats ruined by tourism-such a shame!
@shesnapped Hi Ashley - this is such a good challenge. I have tried to do this once before but my old editing program is so different to the new ones that it was nearly impossible to convert the steps on the tutorial into steps that my program allowed. I did give up too early though so it will be good to have another go! I might cheat a little though and use an older image that looks like it might have a chance of succeeding - otherwise I fear I might not have time to check out the steps well enough. I hope that's OK. :)
@shutterbug49 Hi Shutterbug - this was the second try - I'm still not sure that I like the concept though - it seems to put too much detail into what is essentially one image? :)
@robz It’s really nice, very peaceful even though I see a city skyline in the distance. The ocean and woods are beautiful. I like how you have blended them together and the white vignette ties the whole thing together. It seems like Kauai before the crowds found the uncrowded island.
@shutterbug49 Thanks so much - and you are so right about the city skyline - I debated whether of not to get rid of it but eventually thought that it does show what the GC has become - if you look hard enough. :) I didn't recognize the name Kauai and then felt ridiculous after Googling it! But now I can see what you were saying - we loved it when we visited Hawaii but also felt that it had lots of similarities with the modern day Gold Coast. Thanks for the challenge - it was good. Cheers Rob
@granagringa You are too kind Granagringa - but I do appreciate your support. These are fun to make but they hardly ever do what I wanted them to do at the beginning... :)
@olivetreeann Hi Ann - thanks for your comment - it would be nice to be able to keep some of these places secret :) Google has a lot to answer for! Cheers Rob
