Smug, aka Sam Bates, is an incredible artist who can produce huge murals on any surface - silos included. He has done a series of silo paintings in Australia - all of this quality. This one is in a small town North of Adelaide. He's worth a Google if you're interested in street art.
Loved seeing this silo, so good you were able to get the whole of the artwork in a shot. Our bus driver was not terribly co-operative in that department.
Incredible work (yours and his). Viewing the thimbnail, I thought you would have captured an open book or something like that. But silos? Silos! Wow! Fav
@golftragic Hi Marnie - even when you had plenty of time it was still tricky to get a good shot - they had designated viewing spots which didn't actually work very well. It was great to see though - how clever is he? And I have a funny feeling that he may have done one of the murals in Stanthorpe - I'm going to check when we go back up. :)
@robz I agree, it must be a challenge to make a painting look like this when the ground isn't flat but cylindric (and when people look at it from a low angle). Brilliant. He must have a lot of experience.
