At home on the Gold Coast

Living in a tourist town is a bit like living in a jigsaw. It's your home and you love it because you grew up there and it holds all your memories. And it has beautiful beaches and forests. But you hate what it's being turned into in the name of tourism.

@olivetreeann You are probably like me then - can understand how the residents of Venice and Barcelona must feel. They want to put a cruise boat terminal on our ocean front - and wonder why the locals don't want it! Thanks for your interest.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond The beach has actually been quite dangerous for the last week - big winds, lots of sweeps and rips. A lot of the tourists don't realize how dangerous it is - they can't see the rips. I hope your weather has been kinder. :)
