A local Bottlebrush. by robz

A local Bottlebrush.

A last go at using Split Tones -according to Goggle, the warm tones at the front and the cool tones at the back are supposed to add depth to the image...
Lovely detail and dof :)

I think the split tones worked well here

What an exquisite flower. I adore bottlebrushes. My one sadness that each one I have tried to grow in England has perished under the snow.

@casablanca What a shame - they are fabulous. This one is a local to Stanthorpe - it gets pretty cold (by Aussie standards that is!) up here, but I don't know it it would survive under snow!!

@jgpittenger Thanks Jane - it's been interesting to experiment with. :)

I think this shot lives up to the google description. But I think the shallow depth of field also brings those aspects of the photo out too. What a beautiful plant though- it's like a little burst of fireworks.

@olivetreeann HI Ann - thank you for your feedback. I had another look at it after reading it - and it looks like the top right hand corner should have also been a cool tint. Anyway - too late now. The bottle brush it native to our area and is quite an unusual one - I had never seen ti before coming to live here. Cheers Rob
