20 Seconds of Henry Bug by rockinrobyn

20 Seconds of Henry Bug

"I'll make you a deal," my five year old negotiates with me. "I'll let you take a picture if you push me on the swing."

I weigh my options, realize I don't have any if I want to get a photo uploaded for the day. "Deal," I respond.

He poses for me. Not a bad smile, but I want to see what else I can get out of him, so I ask a few questions about starting school and whether he has a girlfriend. Predictably, Henry reacts, and I keep shooting.

After swinging, we come back inside and he sees nine photos of him on the computer. "Hey, I said you could take "A" picture of me, not "Nine" pictures. Now you have to push me nine times on the swing!"

Proud and horrified, all at the same time. The life of a parent. :)

Fantastic collage!! Love it :)

Kids. They're always negotiating (lol). Tell him you are thinking about cloning him to make you're very own Brady Bunch, which is what this collage looks like to me. :-)

July 18th, 2012

July 18th, 2012
Can't stop smilling! So cute. Fantastic collage.
July 18th, 2012
You had the right idea for photographing a child of that age: ask questions and keep them talking. Much better than trying to make them pose. And I love that you put the whole sequence together. Deserves a Fav.

Love your photos and your wonderful stories, Robyn. This is wonderful ... what a deal. You captured them beautifully. I'm guessing that the cutest and most funny faces came from the question about the "girlfriend!" MOM! lol You should definitely frame this collage of photos .... and give him nine pushes on the swing. :) :)

I love this pic and the story. I always find it amazing how with every different expression you see someone close to you make in photos, they always seem familiar.

It's clear he's quite the character. I hope you don't end up with carpal tunnel from all the swing pushing!!!
