LHG-8469- unusual Landing spot

i happened to be out on the deck when the Black vulture flew in and low. Seems an odd but I suppose it was a good landing spot for him to check things out. He did not stay long before he flew off and up again.

The face on the black vulture almost looks reptilian... they are so different looking compared to the turkey vulture.
