Folke Filbyter... by rosiekerr

Folke Filbyter...

Local sculpture. Swedish legend portrays Folke Filbyter as pagan founder of the Folkung Dynasty. According to legend, his grandson was kidnapped and Folke spent 25 years trying to find him. Here, they are fording a treacherous stream. The horse is terrified, and Folke is gazing downwards, leaning over, trying to counter balance his horse... he is not glaring at you, but it sure looks like it.

Buried at work today, so this is what I have. Hopefully, more time to view and comment in the days to come. :)
This is really powerful! The angle and his expression combine to make me a glad I hadn't run into him on his quest!
