I am so lousy at street shots... too slow, obvious and timid. I saw this group of kids posing for a "you were there" photo in a hotel lobby, so I took advantage of the "facing backwards" opportunity. Finally... a street candid that even timid me couldn't mess up. :)

That "too slow, obvious and timid" are my problems too. You're way ahead of me though in thinking to snap the "behind the scenes" view. Excellent editing choice.
This is excellent- you don't need the backstory to get that they're friends and having a good time. Not seeing their faces also lets our imaginations fill in the smiles. Black and white brings out all the rich folds of their baggy clothes. Don't put yourself down! A great candid/street shot is really all about the timing- not so much how you set it up. this is a fav too!
